The Flight Control Team is responsible for "flying" the spacecraft. This activity goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team monitors satellite performance, health, and safety and verifies that commands sent to the spacecraft are executing properly.

In the event of a problem or anomaly, the team implements contingency plans and coordinates corrective action with the other operational teams and project management.
